At the entrance to Trevinano, a small village on the border between Lazio, Umbria, and Tuscany, this phrase greets visitors with quiet clarity. It isn’t a promise, but a statement of intent. It doesn’t ask to be loved or understood, it simply allows freedom. This area, only seemingly marginal, holds a delicate balance between nature, history, and memory. Surrounding the village is the Monte Rufeno Nature Reserve: over 3,000 hectares of forest, trails, and silence, shaped by time and biodiversity. Further down the valley lie the town of Acquapendente and the Astronomical Observatory. This is a borderland geographically, culturally, and symbolically where the density of place is interwoven with the idea of a threshold: between permanence and change, rootedness and distance, the visible and the invisible. The project was born from a slow exploration without fixed routes, rich in impressions, light and details. The visual narrative builds an emotional map where the place is not a mere backdrop but a living body and its elements, both material and immaterial, are imbued with meaning. Inhabited spaces, empty ones, rural architecture and traces of daily life alternate with more rarefied visions. Between local identity and the universal flow of time, this body absorbs, preserves and transforms. The work conveys a layered and open geography where memory and imagination coexist. Each fragment is an invitation to stay or to leave. There is no set direction, only the possibility of inhabiting the landscape through one’s gaze, listening to its rhythm. This series seeks to restore complexity, dignity, and resonance to what often remains on the margins. To evoke, to make space for the unspoken, and to let the landscape itself, rugged, gentle, indifferent, speak.

All’ingresso di Trevinano, piccola frazione al confine tra Lazio, Umbria e Toscana, questa frase accoglie il visitatore con una sobria lucidità. Non è una promessa ma una dichiarazione d’intenti. Non chiede di essere amata, né compresa: lascia liberi. Quest’area, marginale solo in apparenza, custodisce un equilibrio sottile tra natura, storia e memoria. Attorno al borgo si estende la Riserva Naturale di Monte Rufeno: oltre 3000 ettari di boschi, sentieri, silenzi, attraversati dal tempo e dalla biodiversità. Più a valle si trovano il comune di Acquapendente e l’Osservatorio Astronomico. È un territorio di confine geografico, culturale e simbolico in cui la densità del luogo si intreccia con l’idea di soglia: tra permanenza e mutamento, radicamento e distanza, visibile e invisibile. Il progetto nasce da un’esplorazione lenta, priva di itinerari precisi e carica di suggestioni, luci, dettagli. La narrazione visiva costruisce una mappa emotiva in cui il luogo non è semplice sfondo ma corpo vivo e le sue componenti, materiali e immateriali, si caricano di senso. Gli spazi abitati, i vuoti, le architetture rurali e le tracce di vita quotidiana si alternano a visioni più rarefatte. Tra l’identità locale e la dimensione universale del tempo che scorre, questo corpo assorbe, preserva e trasforma. Il lavoro restituisce una geografia stratificata e aperta, dove convivono memoria e immaginazione. Ogni frammento è un invito a restare o ad andare. Non c’è una direzione imposta, ma la possibilità di abitare il territorio con lo sguardo, ascoltandone il ritmo. Questa serie vuole restituire complessità, dignità e risonanza a ciò che spesso resta ai margini. Evocare, fare spazio al non detto e lasciare che sia il paesaggio stesso, ruvido, amabile, indifferente, a parlare.
