Στρωματώσεις (Stratifications) is a visual exploration of the relationship between identity, landscape, and temporality within the context of Gerace. Cultural roots intertwine with everyday life, generating a tension between permanence and transformation. The work investigates a complex ecosystem where stone converses with nature, craftsmanship endures, and the community emerges as the true guardian of memory. The leporello format, which can be experienced both as an editorial object and as an installation, allows for a continuous yet fragmented reading—much like walking through a village: each fold is a passage, each image a threshold. The words of the residents become an integral part of the work, which, through listening and observation, invites us to reinterpret Gerace not as a relic, but as a living, layered, and evolving body.

Στρωματώσεις (Stratificazioni) è una ricerca visiva sul rapporto tra identità, paesaggio e temporalità nel contesto di Gerace. Le radici culturali si innestano nel quotidiano, generando una tensione tra permanenza e trasformazione. Il lavoro esplora un ecosistema complesso in cui la pietra dialoga con la natura, l’artigianato resiste e la comunità si rivela come vero custode della memoria. Il formato del leporello, fruibile sia come oggetto editoriale che come installazione, permette una lettura continua, ma anche frammentaria, simile al camminare in un borgo: ogni piega è un passaggio, ogni immagine una soglia. Le parole dei residenti diventano parte integrante dell’opera che, tra ascolto e osservazione, invita a rileggere Gerace non come reliquia, ma come corpo vivo, stratificato e in divenire.
